Welcome to South Norfolk Home Options
Home Options – Response to Coronavirus
The housing associations who South Norfolk Council work alongside have reluctantly decided to suspend the advertising and allocation of properties through Home Options.
There are a number of reasons why this decision has been taken. In particular:
Local Authorities have legal duties to people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. During the scheme’s suspension, South Norfolk Council may have to make direct lets of vacant homes to people who are in temporary accommodation or homeless
Some Local Authorities may continue to register applicants and/or complete the processing of existing applications that are not yet active but no properties will be advertised until housing providers are happy that it is safe to do so.
Thankyou for your patience at this time.
If you are a resident of South Norfolk or employed in the district you may be able to apply for affordable homes to rent through the South Norfolk Options scheme. Contact South Norfolk Council's Housing and Advice Team who can tell you if you qualify for the housing register and arrange an appointment.
If you do not live in the district but your current home is unsuitable for your needs, you may also be able to join the register.
Applications to the housing register are through interview at the Council offices in Long Stratton. If you are vulnerable, live in South Norfolk and have no means of travelling to our office we may be able to visit you in your home.
We provide a professional advice service on a range of housing options.
